Welcome to the fifth edition of the Sui Developer Newsletter!

 

We are thrilled to announce a new edition of the Move book, which includes examples written in the new Move 2024 edition.

 

In case you haven't heard, Sui Overflow is Sui's first global virtual hackathon. Builders and devs from around the world are teaming up to push the boundaries of innovation on Sui across 8 tracks and compete for prizes. Learn more about the hackathon, join the dedicated Discord server, and start building now!

 

Do you want to showcase your tool, SDK, or other artifact that might be useful for developers building on Sui? We now accept submissions from the community through the GitHub repository. Check out the repository to find more information.

    Development Experience on Sui

    • The Move book has now been updated and it includes examples written in the new Move 2024 edition. Check it out here.

    • Move 2024 is now the default Move edition. Check out this blog post for more details and the docs to learn more about how to migrate to the new edition.
    • VSCode Move Plugin has been updated to support the latest Move 2024 edition. See additional details and install the plugin via the marketplace.
    • The verify-bytecode-meter CLI command has received a few improvements:

      • Every function and module that is verified is shown in the output table, which you can see here.
      • Added the --modules flag, enabling passing multiple module names to be verified. See more details.
      • Added the --module flag, enabling to verify a single module. See more details.
    • Enhanced BLS / ECCurve support in the Sui framework. Check out the APIs and examples.

     

    Tools

    • Polymedia launched CoinMeta, a library for fetching coin metadata for Sui coins. Check out their repository.
    • Sentio launched Sentio Dash and Sentio Debugger on Sui. Check out the announcement on Twitter and Medium.
    • Check out the Decompiler for Move smart contracts from Verichains.
    • Sui Wallet mobile is now available in Google Play and Public Testflight for iOS. Check out more details here.
    • WELLDONE Studio and Suiscan launched Suiscan Package Source Code Verification – get your source verified here.
